
Little bit of twin action this morning at Girls Basketball Camp!

With the threat of severe weather later this evening tonight's Track banquet will be postponed to next Thursday May 30th at 6:30pm. The banquet will take place at the pavilion next to Charger Field.


Congratulations to Gus Nedved(Senior) and Dayne Gibbons(Junior) on advancing to State for Track. Dayne placed 2nd in the 400m with a time of 52.27. Gus tied for 1st in the High Jump with a height of 1.85m(6' 0.75") being the exact height he needed to qualify! Both will compete Thursday May 23rd at EIU in Charleston, IL. Good Luck to both of them!



Congratulations to Kenadi Sovey as she signed her National Letter of Intent today! Kenadi will be attending The University of Dubuque in the fall and continue to play softball. Good luck to you Kenadi these next four years!






Tonight's Baseball Regional Quarterfinal at home will start early. We plan to start between 4-4:15pm as there are more storms expected after 6pm.


Tonight's Boy's track meet at Bushnell has been cancelled!


Another exciting day here at Orion as Luke Dunlap and Cooper Holke signed their National Letter of Intent. They both will continue to play football starting in the fall! Luke will be attending Warburg College and Cooper will be attending Ellsworth Community College. Congratulations and good luck!





Unfortunately tonight's baseball games have been canceled. BOTH Varsity and JV will still be practicing after school today as they will be playing an inter squad game against each other!

Congratulations to Orion FFA members, Joseph Faulkner and Nick Shillington who recently signed scholarships to attend John Deere Tech. Joseph signed with Martin Tractor and Nick signed with Prairie State Tractor. Both students will attend Lakeland College to obtain their diesel technician certifications. Congratulations!


This week we honored our last set of senior athletes. Monday the baseball boy's were honored vs. Mon-Rose and today we honored the softball girls vs. Geneseo. Thank you seniors for all you've done these last 4yrs. We will miss you not only in the halls but on the field as well! Good luck with the next chapter of your life and congratulations! #ChargerNation



Due to potential thunderstorms later today, tonight's TRAC Conference meet for Girls Track at Mendota, as well as baseball and softball vs Monmouth Roseville have all been cancelled for this evening. The girls track meet will be moved to tomorrow. Baseball and softball makeup is TBD!


Unfortunately again like Monday's JV Baseball game, Monmouth has to cancel tonight's JV game due to low numbers and sickness.


Tonight's OHS Fine Arts Festival was ELECTRIC! Amazing performances by our band and choir students. Add in the artwork by our talented artists and it was quite a night!

Unfortunately due to Fulton needing to make up a conference game tomorrow's softball baseball games have been cancelled.


Several OHS students attended the Eastern Iowa - Build My Future - Career Trades Show in Cedar Rapids, Iowa today. Students were able to have hands-on experiences in a number of the trades including: plumbing, electrical, concrete, carpentry framing, iron work, roofing, trucking driving, heavy equipment operator and many more.

Today we honored two student athletes not only continuing their education but also going on to do and play the sport they love! Olivia Thomsen will be attending UIS (University of Illinois Springfield) to continue running in Cross Country and Track. And Gus Nedved will be attending St. Ambrose University to play basketball! Congratulations to both Olivia and Gus and we wish you the best of luck these next four years!





Unfortunately due to M-R baseball having low numbers and a few athletes going home sick today they will not be able to play tonight's JV game. We will just be playing Varsity at 4:30. We will do Senior night before at around 4:20!
