Last Friday, OHS Gray Matters hosted a "Just Dance" party after school. These students are making a difference, stopping the stigma, and spreading the word about mental health!
OMS students were treated to a livestream with Brooks Gibbs during study hall today. Brooks Gibbs is a resilience educator with a PhD in Social Psychology. He is a popular youth speaker who has been hired by more than 3,000 schools. He specializes in teaching youth how to be emotionally resilient and inspires them to live by the Golden Rule.
AnnMarie and Jack helped Brooks with the presentation.
Several OHS students visited with our 8th grade today. They discussed the many opportunities our students will have at the high school. Thank you to Mrs. Bakener and all of our presenters for mentoring our students today.
Congratulations to the 8th grade girls volleyball team. They retained the conference travel banner on the opening night of conference play.
Congratulations to our 2025 Orion High School Hall of Fame Inductees! The Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled for February 7th, 2025 at 6:30pm before the boys varsity basketball game.
OMS received our new record boards for track. The boards are located in the main hallway near the cafeteria.
Thank you to Anna Streeter for providing us with a grant opportunity to pay for the boards and to all of our coaches and athletic directors who maintained these records.
You probably own a lot of Orion gear representing our many sports teams, (Don’t we all?), but how many of those designs rep our academic prowess? Well, now you can! Orion Scholastic Bowl merchandise is for sale for the first time in four years. T-shirts and sweatshirts, some in traditional Orion colors and a few fun alternative ones, sold by Quality Group for 1.5 weeks only! Sale ends Wednesday, Jan. 15, and orders will be organized for pickup here at the school when they come in by the end of the month. Any extra revenue from the sales will go into the program.
If you’d like, for a small extra fee, you can also put a name or title on the back. Add your student’s name, or tag yourself as a scholastic bowl “Dad,” “Mom” or any other family member.
